A Glimpse of Property Management in Malaysia

Dr Zailan binti Mohd Isa is the Director of National Property Information Programme (NAPIC) division under the Valuation and Property Services Department, Ministry of Finance Malaysia. In 2001 she wrote an interesting white paper that was published at the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) Working Week International Conference 2001 titled “The Management of Public Property in Malaysia”.

As a technology based company in facility management, one of the key component from the white paper that really interest us is the use of Central Management System (CMIS). Quoting what Dr Zailan has wrote, “The system comprise of application software packages on facility engineering services including asset register, predictive planned maintenance tasks and cost and budget control”.
