Microcorp Activity Update October 2009 – July 2010

It’s been a while since we last updated our website and also our blog. To catch up with all of our activities update, we have listed here a compilation of activities we have done the past several months:

NAFAM 2009 – Enhancing Values through Total Asset Management in the 10th Malaysia Plan

Microcorp Technology alongside with our new partner ARCHIBUS Solutions Centers Kuala Lumpur (ASC-KL) participated in showcasing ARCHIBUS as a premier solution with our own tagline “Enhancing Asset Value Through ARCHIBUS”. The 2 days event was held at the PWTC on the 26th and 27th October 2009 with guest participant mostly from the government sector in the area of asset management and maintenance management.

Our booth attracted a number of government agency key personnel and sparked off a few opening of opportunities.

The Launch of UiTM Puncak Alam e-Customer Service (eCS)

A month before The Official Opening of UiTM Puncak Alam, Phase 1 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Microcorp Technology organized a small ceremony for The Launch of e-Customer Service for UiTM Puncak Alam campus.

Launched by Dr. Azni Zain Ahmed, Asst. Vice-Chancellor. (UiTM Puncak Alam & Puncak Perdana Campus), the event was held to show UiTM facilities management staff members the capability and the usage of the e-Customer Service being developed by Microcorp Technology which is powered by ARCHIBUS.

International Real Estate Research Symposium (IRERS 2010)

We featured The 4th International Real Estate Research Symposium 2008 (IRERS) in our blog back in 2007. Organized by the National Institute of Valuation, this year we were invited to participate as an exhibitor to showcase our solutions in the 5th IRERS held at PWTC on the 26th and 27th April 2010.

ARCHIBUS Update Presentation by Sam Cheng (ARCHIBUS South East Asia)

We have a very close relationship with ARCHIBUS South East Asia team. An ARCHIBUS update presentation was held at our own training center on the 13th May 2010. Represented by Sam Cheng, our CFMS team and our partner guest were briefed on what’s new of ARCHIBUS up until the recent International ARCHIBUS Users’ Conference at Chicago 2010.

The insight given by Sam Cheng motivated our CFMS team to further explore our implementation progress done at our client site.

Microcorp Technology 10th Anniversary

In conjunction with Microcorp Technology’s 10th year of establishment on the 25th June 2010, the company’s management treated all Microcorp’s staff a nice tea break meal to gratitude and celebrate our decade years of achievement.

It is our hope that we would strive for the best for many years ahead.

International Symposium and Exhibition on Geoinformation 2009

The International Symposium and Exhibition on Geoinformation 2009 (ISG 2009) was held on 10th and 11th August 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Microcorp Technology was invited to participate in this 8th exhibition event showcasing technologies in Geographical Information System (GIS), Geomatics, Global Positioning System (GPS), Remote Sensing, Surveying and Mapping, Hydrography, Photogrammetry, Location Based Services, Geodetic e-Cadaster and Astronomy.

Demonstrating ARCHIBUS along with our own developed open source based GIS application, our exhibition booth received a lot of attention and commendable feedback from the event participants.

ARCHIBUS KL Seminar Series 2009

Microcorp Technology held 2 events from the 31st of March 2009 to 5th April 2009. The 6 days event was co-hosted by ARCHIBUS Inc. and was conducted at The Residence Hotel at Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Kuala Lumpur. The first event was the ‘ARCHIBUS KL Seminar Series’ (31st March – 2nd April 2009) attended by our major clients along with our technical team. The seminar is a ‘hands-on’ training exposure of ARCHIBUS application which is also part of the training program for Malaysian ARCHIBUS users.

The second event was the ‘ARCHIBUS KL System Administration Training’ (3rd – 5th April 2009) attended by our internal technical team and also 2 other ARCHIBUS partners team from our neighbouring countries, namely Thailand and The Philippines. The objective of the this event is to update and enhance ARCHIBUS application knowledge and technical skills for the participant and also to unite ARCHIBUS solution partners in the South East Asia Region.

Overall, the seminar had received positive feedbacks from both our clients and the ARCHIBUS South East Asia partners who joined us.

Microcorp Technology Participated in Asia Pacific Regional Water Conference & Exhibition 2008

The Water Association of Selangor (SWAn) recently held a 2 days conference at Sheraton Subang Hotel & Towers, Subang Jaya Selangor. Microcorp Technology participated in this 1st Asia Pacific Regional Water Conference & Exhibition 2008 by having a display booth showing the capability of our web-based ARCHIBUS system which is integrated with a working SCADA devices supplied by Schneider Electrics. The map-based system that were featured is a prototype solution for managing water utilities which is then automated making the information displayed in real-time environment performing as a “SCADA Command Center”.

IBT Exclusive Talk by Bruce Forbes, President of ARCHIBUS Inc. at Putrajaya Marriot Hotel

On the 22nd of September 2008, Microcorp Technology held an exclusive talk titled “Realizing Intuitive Business Technology Transformation Through The Utilization of The Best Class IWMS and TIFM” at Putrajaya Marriot Hotel. Over 100 companies related to IT, facilities and property management were invited to attend this “exclusive” event which finished off with a complimentary ‘buka puasa’ at The Terrace House Marriot Putrajaya.

Mr Bruce K. Forbes, president of ARCHIBUS Inc. who is on his tour in South East Asia visited Kuala Lumpur and gave a thoughtful session basically about how technology can be utilized to save our environment apart from saving money and keeping the cost down.

Microcorp Technology is the Malaysian partner for ARCHIBUS and is keen to further promote the use of ARCHIBUS technology and its use to enhance Facilities Management practices in Malaysia. For more information, do contact us.

Microcorp Technology Training Centre First Official Use

Microcorp Technology officially made our first use of one of our computer training rooms thus making it our first ARCHIBUS training session at our head quarter’s office. The training room was completed several weeks ago and coincidently one of our clients decided to have their ARCHIBUS training session at our place instead of their own.

March 2008 Facility Management Event

How time flies. We are already in the month of March 2008. This month, there will be 2 facility management events. One is in Kuala Lumpur and the other is in Bangkok. We’ve already wrote about Property & Facilities Management Congress 2008 – Bangkok Thailand in our previous post. Next week on the 10th and 11th, there will be a Facilities Maintenance Management Training Course organized by The Asia Business Forum (ABF) at JW Marriott Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

We’ve sponsored last year’s Sustainable Facilities Management Conference at Ritz-Carlton, KL conducted by ABF. This year however, we are more focused on a few of our main projects apart from educating our local market the importance of having and utilizing a good Facility Management technology to improve our FM practice.
